About test routes

Each centre page lists that centre's practice routes: typical length and time, the roads used most, roundabouts per route and the mix of speed limits, plus nearby centres. Figures were last updated 10 September 2026.

What are driving test routes?

The roads around a driving test centre that tests tend to use: the junctions, roundabouts, speed-limit changes and tricky spots near the centre. Practising on them means fewer surprises on the day.

Are these the routes the examiner will use?

Examiners can use any roads around the centre. These are practice routes planned to cover the roads, roundabouts and speed limits you are most likely to meet nearby.

How do I drive a test route?

Open the Driving Test Routes app, pick your test centre and choose a route. Voice directions guide you turn by turn, like an examiner during independent driving, and every drive gets a score.
